Deliveroo will provide free delivery in Sydney’s Northern Beaches this weekend, before extending the offer country-wide.

The company says the move is “to help contain the spread (of COVID-19) and support locals and small businesses”, amid a virus cluster in the region.

The cluster of 28 cases has prompted NSW health authorities to urge locals to stay at home as much as possible over the next three days.

Deliveroo’s offer will begin on Saturday for Sydney’s Northern Beaches before being made available to rest of Australia on Monday.

Customers should look out for the “Festive Free Delivery” tag to find restaurants taking part in the promotion.
