withings 'WS-50' smart body analyzer wireless scales...

As part of my ongoing quest to be able to see my own feet (no, I'm actually not that bad, but I am trying to avoid getting there!), I'm on the hunt for a withings scale. These really appeal to the geek in me (wifi/bluetooth support, sends info to the 'cloud', supports services such as 'runtastic' that I've now subscribed to, etc, etc). My brother has the original of these, but the latest model WS-50 does things like monitor heart rate and even CO2 levels! Anyhow, they have it at Harvey Norman, or you can get it from Apple, but the best price I've found is just under $200. Anyone know where it might be had for a better price?

Amazon @$149.95 http://www.amazon.com/Withings-WS-50...

If you're getting other things via shipito etc., get it shipped with the lot.

If you are willing to compromise, get a cheaper one here: http://www.groupon.com.au/deals/nati...

Aldi also had one of those on sale a few days ago for around $15.

Thanks Riman - looked at Amazon, and when you include shipping and exchange rates, not to mention costs of using a freight forwarder, the price is not that much different. Plus if you end up with a dud, replacement would be expensive as opposed to simply walking into a store and dumping the dead unit on the desk & asking for a replacement.

As for the cheaper route - I actually already have an older set of scales since my last 'I must get fitter' phase that does BMI, water and fat analysis but I liked the idea of the fancier kit that automatically records the readings rather than having to do it manually. Lazy, I know. ;-) Actually the easier you can slip these things into your normal daily pattern, the more likely you'll keep them up I've found.....

Oh, there is also the FitBit but the tech behind it is a little outdated I've heard (802.11b which means it could slow down your home wifi network depending on your router/ap - some will 'dumb down' the network to the lowest common denominator)..... Kogan have one, but it's bluetooth only and compatibility with third party systems like runtastic would be an issue.
