Telstra - Black Friday Offer: $100 Gift Card with Telstra's $1 NBN Plan

For Black Friday, Telstra is offering new customers a $100 gift card when they sign-up to one of its new Upfront NBN plans valued at $95 per month or move. Better yet, you can get the first month for just $1.

Telstra's Upfront NBN plans are almost identical to its old range, but are genuinely free from contracts and exit fees. If you leave within your first 24 months, you simply need to return your modem. On Telstra's older NBN plans, you get stung with a modem fee if you leave before your initial two years are up.

While Telstra's Upfront NBN plan range is priced identically to its core NBN plan range, there are a few other differences. The biggest is how the plan is billed. As the name suggests, you'll be billed upfront, and pay for the upcoming month ahead of it. On the older Telstra range, you're issued an invoice and have around two weeks to pay for it.Not all features are currently available on Upfront NBN plans. You can currently only get plans as fast as NBN 100, with NBN 250 coming by the end of the month and NBN 1000 early next year. In addition, most extras cannot be bundled onto Upfront NBN plans yet, including WiFi boosters, game optimisier, and Xbox All Access. Game Pass Ultimate is available, however.

Since the plan is contract-free, there are no penalties for taking it up for a month, getting your gift card, and then leaving. Well, unless you fail to return your modem, in which case you'll need to pay $200.

This offer is only available to new customers, and runs until November 29.
