Telstra - Up to $350 Off Samsung 5G Phones

If you've been thinking about picking up a brand new 5G phone from Telstra, now is the time. Australia's largest telco has got a spate of deals running on 5G phones right now.

Australia's very first 5G phone, the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, is currently being flogged by Telstra for $360 off the device over the life of a 24- or 36-month repayment plan. Repayments on the device usually add up to $2,016, but will now cost you only $1,656.

Telstra says this offer is for a limited time only.

Meanwhile, Telstra is offering the chance to take $288 off the price new Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G, when you pre-order on a 24- or 36-month repayment plan. Usually $1,987 over the life of a repayment plan from Telstra, the discount brings your total spend on the device down to $1,699.

All pre-orders also come with a bonus pair of AKG N700NC noise-cancelling wireless headphones valued at $499. But you'll have to order the phone before August 22 to get them.

In order to redeem either discount in full, you will need to stay connected with Telstra over the full 24- or 36-month repayment period. If you want to leave Telstra before you finish paying off your phone, you'll have to pay out its remaining value with no discount applied.

It's important to be aware, however, that while both phones are 5G-capable, 5G coverage on the Telstra network is currently extremely limited, with only patches available in parts of Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Launceston, Toowoomba, and the Gold Coast.

And while 5G should in the future be able to promise speeds of around 3Gbps, in our real-world testing of the nascent Telstra 5G network we've only managed to achieve speeds of between 100Mbps and 400Mbps.

However, where 5G coverage isn't available, your 5G Samsung Galaxy or Note will still be able to connect to Telstra's 4GX, 4G, and 3G networks.
