Limited stock (30 at each store), and you need to get to one of their stores (DCW Northcote Melb, DCW Canterbury Syd and DCW Annerley Bris) on Sat 9th, but an amazing bargain if you have an old DSLR hanging around!

Even if you don't have an old DSLR, you can get easily one for well under $200. An A5000 kit RRP is $699, but can be got for $573 or so. Less the $100 cashback offer the kit is still worth at least $473, but will only cost $1 plus the old DSLR (you might have hanging around at home, or maybe a friend has one they can give you)!

I've been hunting for A5000/A6000 deals and this popped up! Used to live near their Northcote store, and they've always had decent prices. I'm wondering if it's a) worth picking up an old camera on eBay etc and b) planning to go to the store early Sat morning..... frankly might need to camp out there overnight!

It is a good deal but I wouldn't go as far as camping out at night. I have gotten up as early as 2 am to hit Boxing Day sales but that is as far as I would go. Just curious though has anyone ever camped out overnight for sales/deals?

I would say this is a deal worth camping overnight for, now if only there was no restriction of one camera per person...
As for camping out for sales, I have planned a few times to do so but somehow my plans never materialize.

I think the restriction of one camera per person is good - imagine if you were second in line and the person in front of you bought 30 cameras? As for camping out, it can get pretty cold in Melbourne overnight at the moment. The most I've ever done is get to an art gallery an hour or so before it opened one morning to get some pottery - worked out well as I later sold some of it at an auction and did fairly well from it. If I knew exactly how early I needed to get to the shop to guarantee getting a camera this would be different, but as it is I suspect that there are at least 30 people out there who are more desperate for a bargain than I am..... but good luck to anyone who goes!

Good point about there being a 1 camera per person restriction, don't think anyone would like to be behind the person who is buying all of the 30 cameras

Have had a quick look, and the number of really cheap old DSLRs seems to have dried up - indicates to me that it's going to be busy at DCW. If you're willing to give it a try and live in Sydney, this ($20 for a Sony A100) appears to be the best deal at the moment. As you only need to hand over the body, you could try selling the lens separately! ;-)
