Sears.com / Borderfree Shipping to Australia - DO NOT ORDER!

There have been a few deals/threads regarding ordering from US stores in last few days and I thought sharing a recent personal experience might be useful for the community.

My wife placed an order at Sears.com during Black Friday sale. Sears claimed to ship to Australia via Borderfree for flat rate $25 shipping fee. The order went through fine but only 1 of the 16 items ordered was eventually fulfilled by Sears. According to their customer service reps, they decided to cancel rest of the order without any intimation whatsoever. The reason given by them was that items were out of stock despite most of them still listed on Sears.com.

Most likely, Borderfree (shipping agent) thought that $25 flat rate shipping wasn't enough to cover the entire order and hence they just deleted it from their system without taking any responsibility. Fortunately, it's not too late to shop for Christmas presents all over again but this should serve as a warning to TopBargains users intending to order from Sears or Borderfree as at this point, this seems to be an unreliable retail operation and unfortunately Australian customers don't have any legal recourse in situations like these.

Sears/Borderfree reps can provide a response to this thread if they wish and TopBargains users are encouraged to share their experiences with the service.

Update (15/12/2014) - I have heard back from Borderfree (Luis Falla) and they are trying to get an update from Sears since this post was started. As far as Sears are concerned, they have not even responded to customer support emails. I will update this thread if Sears ever bother to respond.
