Quoting Text from comments

I recently quoted text from a comment but only wanted to quote a small bit of it. . i couldnt figure out if it was possible to only quote certain text.
I also saw that the quoted text seems quite messy as it shows things like placeholder. blockquote etc which makes it hard to read what you have quoted..

Is it possible just to just quote certain text and maybe an idea to clean up the information ? what do you think

eg.

(Having said that, I shopped from catchoftheday within the last couple of years for a variety of things and I am happy with them)

That's a good point and I think airlines are going to same path. Jetstar and Tiger now announce sales with only a handful of seats which leave absolutely no reason for people to even bother as those handful of seats get sold in just few minutes. I seriously think Govt. should regulate advertising of limited stock specials to avoid misleading of consumers!

It seems like quoting part of the text is possible, you just need to delete the rest of the post of the other person. Or are you after quoting someone in the middle of a comment?

I know what you mean. I think whirlpool forum has that functionality and shouldn't be that hard to implement. For the current set up, I am copying some help on how to use 'quotes' from the site manual, hopefully it will get copied correctly.

Edit: Copied help didn't display properly. See if you can open this link:

still doesnt show what i meant to show , basically all you need is [quote88] and [/quote88] while removing the 88, if i left them in it would come up as a quote, if that makes sense. :)
