Did you go for Trick or Treating on Halloween evening?

Happy Halloween everyone!
I had wonderful experince yesterday with my children. I went out to remotly supervise them for Halooween Trick or treating. In my neighbourhood there were dozens of children's group of all ages, in their costumes going people's home, knocking at the door and saying Trick or Treat.
Halloween is becoming more and more popular in Australia now. I did kids costume shopping and some last minutes candies shopping. Next year I will be more prepared and will actively look for Halloowen bargains to save money.
Anyways it was fun !!!

I had a bowl fullof candies, but no one showed up on my door. I guess I will have to eat them all in next few weeks.

My wife dressed the kids ( 4,2, &4 months ) in costumes and did a halloween themed dinner and invited her mum and sister. Worked really well, and they enjoyed giving out the candies to people coming dressed up to our door, especially since we had decorations out the front. We didn't go out, but dont think you need to to enjoy it, but tte kids do enjoy it either wat.

Our kids (one 10 and two 8 year olds) got dressed up and went out with a swarm of friends to terrorize the local neighborhood. I stayed behind to protect a bottle of wine and dealt with over 60 miniature vampires, ghouls, and assorted goblins who came by our house. I also made some gingerdead men (like gingerbread men, only more more skeleton like) and some not so scary pumpkins (white chocolate ganache coloured orange, in gingernut biscuit cases) for us to nibble on.

If you want one, I got the cutter/mold from think geek, but no doubt can be got elsewhere. You stamp out the bone shape with one side, then cut with the other. After baking, then just use royal icing (egg white & icing sugar) to fill the indentations.... but you could of course use a normal cutter, just doing the bones would take more artistic skill & a far steadier hand than I have!

Oh - and let me know if you want the recipe - super easy...
