Dick Smith and sales....

Is it just me, or is Dick Smith losing the plot? Perhaps that came out a bit harsh, but hardly a day seems to go by without there being some special discount [excluding apple products etc etc etc] happening there. As I listed yet another one that came through this morning, that appealed to me if only because I could double up on a separate amex deal to improve the value, I wondered if these deals were helping or hurting them? I'd rather go to a store knowing the the price was decent and/or you knew if you found a better deal later you could come back and get the difference.

These regular deals make me wonder if people who would normally go into a place like Dick Smith on a whim might now decide to hold off for that next sale - which may or may not happen. So they may be losing some of those impulse purchases.

Over the past ten days or so (and I fully expect I missed some!):

So - has this change in direction by DSE impacted how you shop there? I think it has for me.....

yes no need to pay full price at dick smith!
I wondered if it actually works for them, but it must because
1. they keep doing it
2. they actually beat profit forecast
"Dick Smith reported its maiden full-year profit as a listed company, which came in as a net profit after tax of $42.1 million for the year to June 2014 – 5.3 per cent ahead of its prospectus forecast.

I have noticed the daily sales too. A lot of sites have them, but DS are actually full of good offers which is a rarity! It definitely means I'd wait for a sale though - I am doing that for a few items I currently want now!
