Food delivery apps have become an absolute blessing during those times that we've been time-poor, hungover or just downright lazy. The only thing that we don't love about them is the often costly delivery fee, which food delivery service Deliveroo is now trying to minimize for us, the angels.

Beginning last week, the company sneakily launched its subscription service Deliveroo Plus for Australian customers. The delivery service sees you get unlimited order delivery for a flat rate of just $18.99 a month.

Given that delivery would normally set you back somewhere between the $5 to $8.95 mark, you'll only have to make around three purchases per month to start getting your money's worth. Challenge accepted.

Despite the fact that the service was rolled out with no public announcement, the company has already seen over 20,000 customers subscribe within the first week. This isn't really much of a surprise given how popular food delivery apps are at present.

Even supermarket giant Coles has recently jumped on the delivery trend, testing ready-to-eat meal deliveries with Uber Eats. Deliveroo Plus is set to be a game-changer for Australian food lovers though, as it will be the first subscription food delivery service available to local customers.

To sign up for Deliveroo Plus, simply head to the account section of your app and look for the Deliveroo Plus option. Subscribers are set to receive exclusive deals and discounts from restaurants and new users can score themselves a 14-day free trial, so there are plenty of reasons to give it a go.

To stop you pulling a fast one on them though, Deliveroo has limited the subscription to individual customers. This means that no, you won't be able to split the service with your mum, your best friend, and your next door neighbor, though we don't blame you for trying.
