Cruise is booked!
Well, we've decided to give a cruise a try with the kids - because we're a family of five we needed to get two cabins but we have been able to get adjoining rooms so it shouldn't be too bad. I've always thought that going on a cruise would be a form of hell, like being trapped in a large hotel filled with old people playing shuffle board and/or Mr Creosote impersonators sucking up food like human sand dredgers.... but a number of people have told us how good cruises are - both value (travel, accommodation, meals & entertainment all included other than the odd bit of souvenir hunting and meals off the boat etc) as well as fun.
Anyhow, we will see as in a few months we'll be sunning ourselves in Noumea. At the moment the only issue is the kids have all seen 'Frozen' recently, and of course the parents die in a shipwreck so that's a little fresh in their minds so a few concerns have been raised! ;-)
The only issue I may have is internet withdrawal symptoms. They have it on the boat, but is stupid expensive apparently..... I might do without initially and when we arrive at the first port I might pop into a shop and get a local sim to give us some access.
For those of you who have been on a cruise before, any tips?
