Australia Post Launching USA Freight Forwarding site

Bit late to the market, but better late then never, australia post are getting into the big market.

Seems that the prices are on par with other services.

www.shopmate.com.au

You'll pay a flat fee of AU$24.95 per package, with an additional AU$5.95 charged per 500 grams of weight.

Interesting, i assume they will be able to make more money that the other freight forwarders as this is what they normally do ... interesting to see if they try to undercut the market later on to get a bigger share ..

I am sure Australia Post is also planning to launch Auspostbargains ;)

I like the idea but doubt that Australia Post will be pull it off without losing half of the packages in the pacific ocean or something like that but lets hope for the best.

The above URL doesnt seem to be working for me but I found an alternative URL. https://shopmate.auspost.com.au/

I think it should be ok, although the packages will only arrive every alternate Tuesday unless you pay a premium... ;-)

Good for Australian online stores to offer USA shipping. What is the cost of DHL to send 500g of express courier to USA/CANADA?

DHL doesn't offer courier services to consumers in Australia, only businesses can send parcels.
