42inch or bigger TV?

Hi all. Looking for a decent TV to put in the 'play' room for the kids to stare at and/or play games on when friends come over. Requirements are for it to be 42inch or bigger, doesn't need to be 3D, budget under $1,000, and decent quality (no Kogan or Palsonic or Hisense etc) so looking at the likes of Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, maybe LG. Dick Smith has an LG available for $678... or a 50 inch Panasonic for $797. They also are giving an extra $10 when you buy $100 gift cards so could save some more there if I got cards first then bought the TV with them....

But does anyone have any good ideas or suggestions? Current promotions seem to only be for the higher end sets eg:
LG - Get a free Xbox One if you buy a 55LA9700, 55LA9650, or 65LA9700
LG - Get a Skylanders Battleground game if you buy 42LA6620, 55LA6200, 55LA6620, 42LA6910, 55LA6910, 55LA7400, 60LA7410, 55LA8600, 60LA8600, 50LA6230, 55LA6230, 60LA6230, 47LA6620, 50LA6620
Sony - Get a $500 cash card when buying a 4K Ultra HD TV (a lad can dream!)

actaully if you narrow it down to a model maybe you could KB to do one of the 'best price' threads for you :)

Thanks.... Yeah, not bad.... I think I'd rather fork out the extra $100 or so to get a 50inch job eg here. (As plasmas are going out of fashion, seem to be able to get good deals on them at the moment..... They use a little more power, but not much more and the difference is definitely minimal if the tv isn't left on all the time!)

Of course the other option is to upgrade the tv in the living room and shift the old one into the games room..... Mmmmmm..... Maybe I should rethink this..... :-)

Something to do with 'big' and 'inch' perhaps? People are obviously very interested in big inchworms..... :-)

If the womenfolk are interested in 42 inch TVs then my wife is bound to just love that 70 inch monster you found! ;-)

More like some rogue bot that got stuck on the page and kept crawling it again and again.

although i did notice a lot more 'thanks' than normal, would the bots do that?

No, unless someone has programmed a bot to do so but after a while it will get banned from the site. I will have to dig into site logs to trace the issue now.
