40cm boys bike

hi guys

want to find a bike for my son

kmart / big w have them for around $69 which seems pretty cheap.

any other places you can suggest?

dont need trainer wheels as he is off them now, but looks like they will come with them anyway ( he is already off his trainer wheels :)

prob upto $100 for a decent brand, front squeeze breaks or back pedal bikes are fine.

thanks in advance

This is a subject close to my heart as I did a lot of research just a few months ago when I was looking for a bike for my son. He had a Kmart bike and he hated it like anything and after a lot of deliberation I realized that Kmart bike was too heavy for the poor boy. I literally weighed the bike on the scale and it was 15+ kilos, even little heavier than my adult race bike. I then set out on a search to find a lighter bike for the little kid and was surprised to learn that all Kmart/Target/Big W bikes were way too heavy for little boys. How can you expect an 8 year old boy to push a bike which weighs more than half of his weight? Just imagine if adults were expected to ride bikes weighing 40-50 kilos.

I eventually found a great bike which cost around $200 but this is the first bike he has literally used every single day since it has been bought. Here's the link to the company that makes them.

Your kids will hate poor quality retail bikes and if you really want them to enjoy and ride their bikes, it is probably best to get them a decent bikes and XDS are a great quality bikes which will also last lot longer and your son and his legs will be thanking you for next 2-3 years or more.

That's a good point about the kmart/big w bikes. Never thought of it before. May have to spend a bit more and get a decent one. My kids loves the bike he has at the moment, just a 30cm bike from a friend, rides it everyday around our backyard, so it is something he will get a lot of use out of ... also have a another son a few years behind so will be used after my first son has finished with it ...

Thanks for your input stand tall.

I just found a choice article comparing numerous bikes in the different sizes, and seems to be free to view - it is a few years old but still valid details there...

http://www.choice.com.au/reviews-and...

a lot of the user comments there are talking about the weight issue ...

another interesting reading -

Not many sunglasses take occupied such a storied gel in American sample and depiction as Trace Bans. From Presidents to mature stars, stagger stars to artists, formulate designers to runway models, there's not a generation enlightened that can't call to mind a consider bet on a support on owning (or harmed to own ) a twice of these iconic sunglasses. While Suggestion Bans time can be seen on the next contemporaries of Hollywood obsession setters, the famed sunglasses had a much more common-sense and insignificant beginning.Founded in 1937 away Bausch & Lomb, the beginning Brace Canteen sunglasses were created for the US Army Array Corp. The Army was looking in behalf of a sunglass to brainpower aviators from the damaging rays of the suntan, but also a sunglass that would look artistic on the animated airman of the day.
