I have to say that the 65inch UHD TCL almost deserves its own listing. $1860 for a 65 inch ultra high def Smart 3D TV is amazing. Comes with a 3Year warranty as well, which is a nice touch.

Thanks ninhursag .
Sony KDL60W850B 60"(152cm) FHD LED LCD 100Hz 3D Smart TV is also a good deal I think.

Definitely. I remember spending well over $3k for a 50inch tv not that long ago.... Plasma rather than LED but even so. Amazing. I think I'd probably lean towards the Sony as I suspect that the image quality may be better, even though the TCL is a little bigger plus has the UHD panel.

Actually, I remember seeing the first flat panels from Philips around '97 or '98. They were 42 inch and cost a touch under $20k here ($15k in the US). Had a weird resolution of 852*480 or similar - but was still significantly higher resolution than existing TVs, Also had separate boxes for all the electronics like the tuner and power supply...... and pretty much could cook eggs on any of it as it ran so hot..... but hey....boy did I want one. I remember seeing the store display unit at DJs on sale in Melbourne for $12k and I was tempted.... (single, no kids etc...) ;-)
