I am sure customer profiling is the only purpose behind this card. In the US, they have started this new shopping trolley system where you insert your shopping card into a panel on the trolley and the LCD screen starts reminding about your usual purchases so that you don't forget anything. You can save your weekly shopping list on the card and it also alerts you if there are specials on your usual purchases. I think there is nothing wrong with these schemes as long as they respect your privacy and are on a voluntary basis.
Thanks
I'm thinking it would be VERY POSSIBLE for them to keep a track of every purchase you make. Then profile you on where you live and what you buy and then target you with more junk mail (or email) aimed on your shopping profile.
Hmmmm. We rejected an Australia Card years ago for privacy reasons. The fact they are bribing you with an extra discount just to get you to join makes me even more suss.
Anyway, you'll only be able to buy those awful imported "Select" brands soon. There seems to be more of that crap creepingonto the shelves every week. No wonder we don't grow anything here anymore. And AQIS should be scrutinising more of what's imported.
Enough. Enough. Enough. Time to take a stand.
Cheers!
