I wonder if these were the same sheet sets for sale at COTD and Scoopon last week? For example at COTD: http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/prod...

Both are 1000TC, the colour choices are identical and both are cotton rich.

If so, they were $10 cheaper at COTD with free shipping and $10 cheaper at Scoopon with the bonus vouchers that were also available. I decided against purchasing them even with those extra discounts due to poor reviews.

They are different brands. However, I just noted from oo.com.au page that their sheets are not cotton and a blend. COTD ones are 80% cotton, 20% polyester and oo ones don't specify the split.

I am not sure but a higher cotton content would mean better quality?

Another factor is origin of cotton. Most cotton sheets now use low quality egyptian or chinese cotton and hence they don't declare product origin. Lately, it's impossible to get cheap 100% cotton from a good origin like Pakistan - they now sell for over $200-$300 in some cases.
